For example, but not limited to, any lack, or loss, of a valid provisional licence, any illness, medication or drugs. You must notify the DVLA accordingly. It is not your instructor’s responsibility to make such notifications to the DVLA. It is essential that you inform your instructor before the commencement of any lesson of any condition which may affect you in any way during these lessons. This will help ensure the safety of all concerned and may also enable your instructor to align the lessons to your particular needs. This applies to any temporary condition (eg headache, food poisoning) as well as to any permanent condition (eg hay fever, allergies, dyslexia, epilepsy, diabetes) even if the condition is in remission. You shall ensure that your instructor is fully instructed as to your possible needs regarding any medication, foodstuffs or refreshments and you shall ensure that they are brought to the lessons if there is any possibility that they will be needed during a lesson. Monies, Price Changes and Charges All lessons must be paid for in advance of the session. Your instructor will safeguard and account for any monies paid in advance by you and will make details available on request. One months notice of any price increases will be given by the instructor. Cancellations 48 hours notice is normally required to cancel or postpone a lesson, if this is not possible and the lesson cannot be re-arranged to a mutually acceptable time within 7 days of the cancelled lesson, at the total discretion of your instructor, the full training fee for the period in question may be lost or charged. When your lesson has been booked please look out for your instructor. He/She will wait at the agreed pick up point for 10 minutes only. Delays and postponement by your instructor You will be refused a driving lesson if your instructor has reason to believe that you are under the influence of drink or drugs and the lesson will be charged for at the full amount. Your instructor will endeavour to attend your lesson on time, but if delayed the time lost will be made up at the end of the booked lesson time or if not convenient, added on to a future lesson. If a lesson is postponed or cancelled due to traffic congestion or vehicle breakdown, your instructor will endeavour to rebook this lesson within a 7 day period on a mutually agreed time and date. DVSA Practical Driving Test If you have applied for a driving test, and you do not keep up to date with your lessons prior to test, or if in the opinion of your instructor, you are not safe to proceed with the test, your instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of the tuition vehicle for the test. Your instructor will inform you in good enough time for the test to be rescheduled without loss of test fee. No responsibility can be taken for tests cancelled by the DVSA due to adverse weather or any other reason. Nor can your instructor take any responsibility for you losing your documentation or failing an eyesight test. Your instructor will take responsibility for lost test fees if the test is cancelled by the examiner due to the condition of the vehicle not being acceptable for test.
